The
Electrical Engineering Department is
the largest and most deeply rooted
department at the Faculty of
Engineering Technology. It has two
programs ; one leading to the BSc
degree in Electrical Power
Engineering or Communication
Engineering and the other leading to
the intermediate diploma degree in
Electrical Power Systems or
Industrial Electronics.
The BSc program in
Electrical Power Engineering
provides the students with the
theoretical and practical
background and skills necessary for
the modern highly-qualified engineer
in this field.
The courses taught in
this program are related to the
generation, transmission,
distribution and control of
electrical energy.
After finishing this
program, the fresh engineer is able
to work successfully in planning,
designing, operating and maintaining
electrical power systems.
The BSc program in
Communication Engineering provides
the students with the theoretical
knowledge and practical skills about
modern communication systems.
The courses are
continuously developed in order to
cope with the latest developments in
this quickly-changing field.
The fresh engineer who
finishes this program is able to
work successfully in planning,
designing, operating and maintaining
communication systems and networks.
The intermediate
diploma program in Electrical Power
Systems in designed to provide the
participants with the basic
theoretical knowledge and practical
skills, in order to be able to work
in fields related to operating and
maintaining electrical power
systems.
The intermediate
diploma program in Industrial
Electronics is designed to provide
the participants with the basic
theoretical knowledge and practical
skills, in order to be able to work
in fields related to operating and
maintaining electrical and
electronic systems used in
industrial plants.
The BSc program is a
five –year program , whereas the
diploma program is a two year
program.
In addition to
teaching the specialized theoretical
and practical subjects in the
Department, our faculty members
teach supportive subjects to other
departments.
Finally, I would like
to thank you for giving me a portion
of your valuable time, giving me
the honorable opportunity to
introduce my department to you .
